Chamonix High Mountain Police (PGHM) are appealing for information about two skier-alpinists missing in the Vallée Blanche sector of the Mont Blanc range following the discovery of ski equipment.
Two pairs of touring skis of type Dynastar and Head were discovered close to the normal ski descent of the Vallée Blanche between the Pointes Lachenal and Gros Rognon. The skis were equipped with climbing skins and Low Tech bindings. They were first seen on Saturday 27th September 2014 and it was assumed they belonged to alpinists who were climbing in the sector. Police are baffled as to why they gear has not been recovered, no missing persons report has been filed. Anyone who has information about the gear can call them on +33 (0)4 50 53 16 89.
