Description

I always come up to les Saisies at the end of the season and always end up a bit disappointed as the snow is rarely good, or it goes off very early in the day. I skied around the Justine-Braisez black, 22km but some parts were closed due to the conditions. Quite hard descending in slush up to your ankles but the expert skiers didn't seem too bothered. They probably are used to skiing all conditions in training. When I got back to the start I decided I'd done enough. It was good training but hard going.

Conditions

Warm, 10C at the car park. It was the French national championships so the trails were pretty cut up by skiers warming up on the very soft snow. Some sand on the trails blown in from the Sahara last weekend. It didn't help the skating.
